George Dennison Prentice

Biography: Attended Brown University at Providence, Rhode Island, from 1820 to 1823, where he was tutored by Horace Mann. Studied law in Canterbury, Connecticut. Editor of the Connecticut Mirror in 1827. Editor of the Hartford New England Review in Hartford, Connecticut, in 1828. Moved to Louisville to write a biography of Henry Clay in 1830. Editor of the Louisville Journal from 1830 until 1868. Married Harriet Benham in 1833. Father of William Courtland Prentice and Clarence Joseph Prentice. Member of Christ Church Episcopal church after March 25, 1845.
