Biography: Attended law school at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts from 1856 to 1857 and at Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky in 1857. Married Florence Low in 1863. Elected Commonwealth's Attorney for the Seventh Judicial District of Kentucky in 1862.
