Biography: Enslaved in Tennessee. Fled as a contraband to Louisville, Kentucky, in 1862. Reenslaved and sent to work in the household of Willis and Anne Levy. Convicted of the murder of Blanche Levy in May 1863. Pardoned by Thomas E. Bramlette on September 24, 1863.
