Inclosed I send you the Recomendations of several officers, which I trust you will commission.

Many officers are resigning, from the different Regts, without regard to any particular state,

There are probably one or two officers yet in my Regt, who may try to resign, because they have not been recomended for promotion, should they do so, I have no doubt, the General, Comdg will accept, their resignations and let them return to civil life.

I have not had a case of small pox in my Regt, for several days, I have some hope that it will now, stop.

The River continues to rise, and has risen over the former height, some six inches, though it is rising quite slowly, at this time.

I would respectfully make the following recommendations.

^✓^ William H. Jackson to be 1^st Lieut and Qr Masters of the 3^rd Ky V. I. Vice W. W. Watkins resigned. To rank from the 1^st January 1863 promoted from Q^r M^s Sergeant. ^✓^ 1^st Lieut Thos H. Wilson to be captain of Co D 3^d Ky vice A. H. Clark resigned 2^nd Lt Hampton Flanery to ^✓^ be 1^st L^t Co D. 3^rdRegt Ky V. I. vice Wlson promoted. Orderly Sergeant Henry J. Clark to be 2^nd L^t Co D 3^d Ky Vice Flanery ^✓^ promoted. All To rank from this date.

^✓^ 1^st Lieut Peter Hinkle to be captain Co J. 3^rd Ky Vice W. A. Dozier resigned. Gale S. Dowis to be 1^st L^t ^✓^ same Co Vice Hinkle promoted. From former recomendation
^✓^ Orderly Sergeant Joseph Frisbee to be 2^nd L^t same Co Vice Davis promoted all to rank from this date
