Union County, Kentucky, resident and soldier. Kentucky native. Married to Lucy Ann Reaser Goodwin in Union County, Kentucky, on September 29, 1858. Farmer in Union County, Kentucky, in 1860. Served in the 10th Kentucky Cavalry Regiment (C.S.A.) as a private and first sergeant from August 20, 1862, to February 15, 1865. Captured at Cheshire, Gallia County, Ohio on July 20, 1863. Prisoner of war at Camp Douglas, Illinois, from August 22, 1863 to February 15, 1865. Signed a loyalty oath the U.S. government on February 16, 1865.
