Nicholas County, Kentucky, farmer and soldier. Kentucky native. Son of Jesse Allen and Phoebe Allen. Farmer in Nicholas County in 1860. Served in the 16th Kentucky Volunteer Infantry Regiment (U.S.A.) as fifth sergeant, second sergeant, first sergeant, and second lieutenant from September 23, 1861. Died of typhoid fever while in service in Chattanooga, Tennessee, on June 17, 1864.
