Father of Thomas Pitts, James Pitts, Ethelbert Pitts, Alonzo J. Pitts, Jackson Pitts, Laura B. Pitts, and Henry W. Pitts. Laborer in Lewis County in 1850. Farmer in Lewis County in 1860. Served in the 16th Kentucky Volunteer Infantry Regiment (U.S.A.) as private and sergeant from November 7, 1861, to July 24, 1865.
