Served in the 11th Kentucky Volunteer Cavalry Regiment (C.S.A.) as sergeant from September 10, 1862. Captured at Buffington Island, Ohio on July 19, 1863. Prisoner of war at Camp Morton in Indianapolis, Indiana, from July 23, 1863.
