Gentlemen

Mr Dowdy at Columbus gave me an account of a Murder, committed by Jones Gregory, Frank Gregory; and a man named Jas Boren, at Dublin, Graves County Ky. and Said that W C Wommack and Thos Leopold would give 500.$ for their arrest, the parties are here acting as spies for the Federal troops. Now if you will procure a requisition from Gov of Kentucky, And have Ray Mauer inserted as Agt of the State of Kentucky to bring the prisoners, and send it to me I will bag the Gentlemen and bring them over. Now this must be done on the Sly for if the troops find it out here I will Hardly get them. And again, they have friends in your Neighborhood. and if they found out what we are doing we may give up the chase. when you Send for the requisition try Hard to get the Governor to offer a reward for each of them Say from three to five Hundred Dollars each. So that I can if possible make
a little Money out of the Scoundrels. Now if you want them, please attend to this immediately And with as little delay as possible, the Governor of this State will be bound to obey the requisition for Kentucky has not Seceded.

I will refer you to Mr Dowdy, city Marshall of Columbus, James Irwin, Mayor Sharp, W Wilburn Citizens of Columbus, as to who I am. An early reply will oblige
