Graves County, Kentucky, student, clerk, and soldier. Kentucky native. Son of Gabriel Gregory and Jane McGothy Gregory. Student in Graves County, Kentucky, in 1850. With his brother, Thomas "Jones" Gregory, he engaged in counter-guerrilla activities in western Kentucky in 1861. Clerk in Paducah in 1863. Mustered into the 13th Tennessee Volunteer Cavalry Regiment, Bedford’s Battalion (U.S.A.) as first lieutenant in Paducah on October 26, 1863. Arrested and wounded by Major Bradford at Fort Pillow in Henning, Tennessee, on February 23, 1864. Died of his wounds on February 28, 1864.
