Herewith please find copies of two Indictments. the accused in which has fled and is at or near st Louis in the State of Mo as we are satisfactorily informed — The offenses of which he stands here charged are of a very aggravated character and ^that^ he ought to be brought to justice is the general sentiment here — I write for the purpose of obtaining the necessary papers
for his arrest and return to this state for trial and would suggest as a suitable and efficient person to act as agent of theSstate M Cook who is marshal of the City of Newport.

He acted promptly and efficiently in the same capacity not long ago in bringing a man from Ill, who was indicted in our court —
