Williamson County, Kentucky, fugitive from justice. Tennessee native. Son of Mark H. Scales and Susan Scales. Resident of Marshall County, Tennessee, in 1850. Household owned seven enslaved persons in Marshall County in 1850. Attended school in Williamson County, Tennessee, in 1860. Household owned nine enslaved persons in Williamson County in 1860. Charged with the murder of Alfred Ogilvie in Williamson County in September 1865. Fugitive from justice in October 1865.
