Montgomery County, Ohio, clerk. Ohio native. Son of Ebenezer C. Maxwell and Elizabeth Maxwell. Resident of Union County, Ohio, in 1850. Resident of Montgomery County, Ohio, in 1860. Killed Augustus A. Van Houten in Montgomery County on October 6, 1864. Indicted for the murder of Augustus A. Van Houten in Montgomery County in November 1864. Fugitive from justice in Kentucky in 1865. Arrested in Fleming County, Kentucky, in September 1865. Remanded to the State of Ohio on September 25, 1865.
