Hopkins County, Kentucky, tinner and soldier. Tennessee native. Married to Angie Scales. Father of Babe Scales. Tinner in Madisonville, Kentucky, in 1860. Served in the 10th Kentucky Cavalry Regiment (C.S.A.) as a third lieutenant. Captured at Madisonville on November 16, 1862. Signed a loyalty oath to the U. S. government on May 16, 1865.
