Caldwell County, Kentucky, farm laborer and soldier. Kentucky native. Son of Samuel C. Ladd and Sarah A. Ladd. Resident of Trigg County, Kentucky, in 1850. Farm laborer in Caldwell County in 1860. Served in the 8th Kentucky Volunteer Cavalry Regiment (U.S.A.) as a private from September 6, 1862, to September 23, 1863.
