Graves County, Kentucky, farmer and soldier. Alabama native. Son of Jacob H. McCuan Sr. and Elizabeth McCuan. Married to Sarah McCuan. Father of John McCuan, Sarah A. McCuan, N. H. McCuan, George W. McCuan, James H. McCuan, and Eliza J. McCuan. Farmer in Graves County, Kentucky, in 1850. Indicted for the murder of John Wiggins in Graves County in 1859. Served in the 120th Illinois Infantry Regiment (U.S.A) as a private from October 29, 1862 to May 31, 1865.
