Father of Andrew Herbert, Emma Herbert, and Charles Herbert. Currier in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1850. Currier in Covington, Kentucky, in 1860. Printer in 1863. Served in the 1st Kentucky Light Artillery Regiment (U.S.A.) as private from December 4, 1863, to May 7, 1864. Served in the 4th Kentucky Mounted Infantry Regiment (U.S.A.) from May 7, 1864. Reported as deserted from Lexington, Kentucky, on June 1, 1864.
