Owensboro, Kentucky, farmer and soldier. Kentucky native. Son of Isham R. Allen and Lucinda Allen. Farmer in Owensboro in 1850. Served in the 17th Kentucky Volunteer Infantry Regiment (U.S.A.) as quartermaster sergeant, fifth sergeant, and second lieutenant from February 3, 1862, to October 16, 1863.
