Lawrence County, Kentucky, farmer and soldier. Kentucky native. Son of Joseph Borders and Julia A. Borders. Student in Lawrence County, Kentucky, in 1850. Farm hand in Lawrence County in 1860. Served in the 14th Kentucky Volunteer Infantry Regiment (U.S.A.) as first sergeant, second lieutenant, and first lieutenant from December 10, 1861, to August 1, 1864. Died at the general field hospital in Marietta, Georgia, on August 1, 1864.
