Bourbon County, Kentucky, clerk and soldier. Kentucky native. Son of John S. Vimont. Clerk in Bourbon County in 1850. Resident of Millersburg, Kentucky, in 1860. Served in the 6th Kentucky Volunteer Cavalry Regiment (U.S.A.) as private and company bugler from December 23, 1861, to May 28, 1863. Served in the 7th Kentucky Volunteer Infantry Regiment (U.S.A.) as second lieutenant from May 29, 1863, until he died of pneumonia in Chattanooga, Tennessee, on October 28, 1864.
