Father of Mary Viola Ambrose, France Phila J. Ambrose, Harrison J. Ambrose, Thomas H. Ambrose, and L. D. Ambrose. Physician in Fleming County, Kentucky, in 1850. Methodist minister in Bourbon County in 1860. Served in the 7th Kentucky Volunteer Cavalry Regiment (U.S.A.) as chaplain from August 17, 1862, to July 10, 1865.
