Harrodsburg, Mercer County, Kentucky, tailor and soldier. Native of Oaxaca, Mexico. Married Sarah Selch Garcia in Mercer County, Kentucky in March 1861. Father of George Thomas Garcia, Sarah Garcia, and Elizabeth Garcia. Veteran of the U.S. - Mexico War. Captured by the American army at the Battle of Chapultepec in 1847. Immigrated to Kentucky c1848. Tailor in Harrodsburg in 1860. Served in Byrne's Battery under John Hunt Morgan (C.S.A.) as an artillerist until 1863.
