Bath County, Kentucky, farmhand and soldier. Montgomery County, Kentucky, native. Son of Marcus Hatton and Mary "Polly" Hatton. Married to Mary Warren Hatton in Bath County in May 1859. Resident of Bath County in 1850. Farmhand in Bath County in 1860. Served in the 24th Kentucky Volunteer Infantry Regiment (U.S.A.) as a private from December 31, 1861, to January 31, 1865.
