Letcher County, Kentucky, farm laborer and soldier. Kentucky native. Son of Henry Quillen and Elizabeth Quillen. Resident of Letcher County in 1850. Farm laborer in Letcher County in 1860. Mustered into service in the 13th Kentucky Cavalry (C.S.A.) as a private on October 4, 1862. Served in the Sandy Valley Battalion of the 1st Regiment Kentucky Guards (U.S.A.) as a private from May 10, 1864 to September 12, 1864. Reported as deserted on May 12, 1864.
