Versailles, Kentucky, farmer and soldier. Kentucky native. Son of Thomas N. Lindsey and Isabella P. Lindsey. Married Hellen Maria Talbot Lindsey in Franklin County, Kentucky, on January 18, 1859. Attended Kentucky Military Institute. Resident in Franklin County in 1850. Moved to Texas in 1856. Farmer in Versailles in 1860. Enrolled for military duty in Seventh District of Woodford County, Kentucky, on July 1, 1863 (U.S.A). Assisted in organizing Kentucky state militia between May 1864 and October 1864. Assistant paymaster for the Commonwealth of Kentucky in December 1864.
