Kenton County, Kentucky, clerk and secretary. Connecticut native. Son of Wanton Ransom and Hannah Hall Ransom. Married to Martha J. Rice Ransom in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on July 31, 1854. Father of Kate E. Ransom, Henry W. Ransom, Martha M. Ransom, Stella M. Ransom, and Franklin K. Ransom. Secretary for the Kentucky Central Railroad Company in 1862.
