Cincinnati, Ohio, lawyer and soldier. Ohio native. Son of Robert T. Lytle and Elizabeth H. Lytle. Lawyer in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1860. Served as Colonel of the 10th Ohio Volunteer Infantry (U.S.A.) on May 3, 1861. Served as Brigadier General U. S. Volunteers (U.S. A.) in November 29, 1862. Died on September 20, 1863 from wounds at Chickamauga, Georgia.
