Todd County, Kentucky, farmer and soldier. Kentucky native. Son of Leonidas Leavell and Harriett Leavell. Married to Melissie Leavell. Resident in Montgomery County, Tennessee, in 1850. Farmer in Todd County in 1860. Served in the 3rd Arkansas Infantry (C.S.A.) as private from July 2, 1861, to 1863. Served as division teamster in 1863. Reported as deserted on April 2, 1864.
