Shelby County, Kentucky, farmer and soldier. Kentucky native. Married to Ruth M. Allen. Father of Alexander T. Allen, Mildred Allen, and Willie Allen. Farmer in Shelby County in 1860. Served in the 2nd Kentucky Cavalry (C.S.A.) as a captain. Served in the the 3rd Kentucky Volunteer Cavalry Regiment (C.S.A.) as a lieutenant colonel. Applied for and received an amnesty pardon from President Andrew Johnson on October 16, 1865.
