Owsley County, Kentucky, farmer and soldier. Kentucky native. Son of John A. Stamper and Lucinda Stamper. Married to Juda Stamper. Father of Sarah Stamper and Josephine Stamper. Farmer in Owsley County in 1860. Served in the 8th Kentucky Volunteer Infantry (U.S.A.) as a sergeant from January 15, 1862, to August 18, 1863.
