Caldwell County, Kentucky, brigadier general. Caldwell County native. Graduate of West Point in 1856. Served as an artillery officer until he resigned his commission on April 30, 1861 to join the Confederate Army. Promoted to Brigadier General and served in the Department of Western Kentucky.
