Hancock County, Kentucky, farmer. Kentucky native. Married to Mary "Polly" A. Gates Barr in Hancock County on April 11, 1843. Father of Charles R. Barr, John F. Barr, Catherine E. Barr, Thomas A. Barr, Lydia J. Barr, George E. Barr, and Annie M. Barr. Farmer in Hancock County from 1844 to 1863, before moving to Daviess County, Kentucky. Founding member of the Hancock Pond Draining Company in 1850. Owned six enslaved persons in Hancock County in 1860. Member of the Methodist Church.
