Graduated from the Law Department of Transylvania University in Lexington, Fayette County, Kentucky, in 1842. Attorney in McCracken County, Kentucky, in 1850. Elected county attorney of Ballard County in 1856. Attorney in Ballard County in 1860. Circuit judge of the First Judicial District of Kentucky from 1862 to 1867.
