Muhlenberg County, Kentucky, merchant and soldier. Kentucky native. Son of Edward R. Weir, Sr., and Harriet R. Weir. Merchant in Muhlenberg County in 1860. Served in the 11th Kentucky Volunteer Infantry Regiment as captain from December 9, 1861, to December 9, 1863. Served in the 35th Kentucky Volunteer Infantry Regiment as lieutenant colonel from May 28 1863, to December 29, 1864.
