Bardstown, Kentucky, politician. Nelson County, Kentucky, native. Studied medicine at the University of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky. Practiced medicine in Nelson County. Elected as a Whig to the United States Congress in 1845. Member of the United States Congress from the 5th Congressional District of Kentucky from 1845 to 1847. Represented Nelson County in the House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Kentucky from 1859 to 1859, and from 1861 to 1864.
