Your communication of the 6^th inst to His Excellency Gov^r Bramlette, has been referred to this office for reply. I have the honor to state that we are now raising 10.000 six months troops in Ky by permission of the Secy of War, to take the place of the veterans now among us, who are needed at the front. We cannot state positively that these troops will be assigned to particular localities, but have no doubt but that they will be required to protect the region of country that they were raised in. I telegraphed you this morning authority for Jas N. Poole to recruit a company, for the six months service. We hope for the cooperation of all loyal men in assisting us in raising these troops:
