By request of some of the members of my Company, and to relieve myself of the annoyance of them, I write to you for information concerning the mustering out of Volunteers who Enlisted under a call you made on the State for 20000 Volunteers, to serve in old Rgts, for a term of 12 months, being allowed $2500 Bounty and $2.00 [provision], There is six of them in the Company, they were told by the mustering Officer that they would have to ^be^ mustered in for three years as it was a three years Regt, but were assured that they would be discharged with the Regt, they are Reported as three years Volunteers, on all Rolls, and in the Company Books, and are
now told that they will have to serve three years, from date of Enlistment, You wil please do me the Kindnesss, to let me know whether they can be mustered out, with the Regt, or not, and if not, whether they will be entitled to the Bounty allowed three yrs volunteers, or not, by so doing, you will give great satisfaction, to some badly dissatisfied Soldiers, I wil not weary you with more on the subject, please excuse this,
