Dear Sir, Having written to you June 19^th concerning L. B. Collins of your State; Not knowing there were others as bad as he or worse Suffering with sickness by a feeble broken Constitution who are not fit for further Service and never will be We feel that your honor being informed of the true circumstances of their condition will call them home to their families and friends One W^m A Dunsmore Co H 19^th Kentucky Inf And W^m Webb Co A 19^th do do, W^m A Dunsmore is in this Hospital and W^m Webb is in Prison No 3 in the City As it seems these men were sent home on sick furlough Ordered to report ~~to Report~~ to Provomarshall at ~~Summerset~~ Somerset They done so according to orders But for the sake of 30 dollars Bounty the detective Regardless of their infirmities and to shield his iniquity avoided takeing
them as he ought to have done before Marshall Sawyer Took them to London before Marshall Hayes Mashall Hayes said they were not liable to punishment But that the Detective ought to have taken them. Before Provo Marshall Sawyer to whom prisoners or these sick men had been sending their reports to Through Dr Floyd of Harrison Pulaki County Kentucky And now that the Regmt is Mustered out of service and the War is over to punish sick men with such treatment for thirty Dollars per head is a shame and disgrace practised upon the innocent ~~men~~deserter for the sake of punishing the guilty

Therefore you must excuse me for my sympathy with that Union sentiment which exists in those States where there has been so much sacrifice of life and suffering during a four years war
