I Beg leave of you honor to to in form you of my condition and the way I have bien Dealt with I volenteerd in October 61861 in the 14^th Ky, volenteer Inft as 1^st corporal and then I was made 1^st Duty Sargent

But on acount of disability and long absence in Hospital the Col -- has ordered me reduced to the Ranks

My Surgeon has Reported me Disabled fom Duty -- some months a go and I have Bin left here
on Such Duty as I have Bin able to do and I am willing to remain in the survice if I can be of any survice to my [Contrary] I am 37 years of age & served fifteen months in the Mexican Ware and now I wish to know if I am likely too Bec of any survice to the Relief of my [contrary] if I am not intitlled to a -- Sargeont place in the invalid Corps and sargent wagers
