Carroll County

Roger ^T^ Searcy states that ^that he knows of his own personal knowledge^ on or about the 21^st Day of May 1863 Charles Brigham did in the County of Carroll and state of Kentucky commited the offense of stealing clotheing from this affiant toof the value of $10, and afterward escaped to the state of Indiana and was arested charged with said offence and lodged in the jail of Switzerland County in said state where he still remains

John Searcy states that he knows of his own personal knowledge that the clotheing mentioned in the above affidavit of Roger T. Searcy were stolen at the time mentioned therein and that the said Charles Brigham was at the house of R W Searcy at the
time said Clotheing was stolen and that the said Briingham left the residence of said R W Searcy immediately after said theft was committed,, That said clothing were stolen at the residence of of said R W Searcy in Carroll County Kentucky

The above affidavits are made for the purpose of procuring a requisition from the Govenor of Kentucky on the Govenor of Indiana to obtain the body of said Brigham to be delivered to the proper authorities of Carroll County where the offense was committed for trial: he now being confined in the Switzerland County Ind jail at Vevey the county seat charged with said offense and held a prisoner awaiting such requisition & I recommend that Roger T. Searcy be appointed agent of the State of Kentucky to bring said prisoner to Carrollton
