I have this day Enclosed to his excellency the Gov of the State a petition of W M Stone to have a forfeited bond remitted -- The facts are set forth in his petition, which you will see are sufficient, and signed by a few of our best union men & most respectable citizens. M^r Stone only [append] to those who have signed it, deeming it unnecessary to obtain any more signatures -- I write this private note to you to ask as a special favor to me that you call the attention of the Gov to it immediately -- & if he remits it we want the remitter
forwarded immediately in order we may file it on the call of the case which will be on the 22^d inst the day our June Term Commences

Forward the remitter to me & your immediate attention to this matter will much oblige
