The State of Ky.
County of Jefferson

This day A. J. M^cAlten made oath before me a Justice of the Peace for Said County that on the 29^th day of Nov. 1862. in the County of Daviess in Said State "Elliott" a slave the property of Willis Field of the Said County of Daviess in the State of Ky. did maliciously & with malice afore thought with a butcher knife about six inches long which he the Said Elliott, Slave as aforesaid then held in his left hand Stab, thrust and penetrated the body of the Said Willis Field in the abdomen & through the heart of the Said Willis Field, then & there after being stabed as afs^d by the said Elliott slave as aforesaid with the Butcher Knife six inches long as afs^d lingered & Died from the effects of the stabbing as afs^d by the Said Elliott slave as afs^d & that the Said Elliott, slave of Willis Field as afs^d is guilty of the Crime of "Murder" in the killing & murdering the Said Willis Field
in Daviss County in the State of Ky. as afs^d & that the Said Elliott is now a Fugitive from Justice in the State of Indiana, going at large
