Allow me to introduce to your acquaintance, and bespeak your favorable notice of the Rev Geo L Rogers of Bullitt County, who will hand you this note.

He comes to solicit your clemency in behalf of his son, who has been imprisoned in this city under circumstances, the particulars of which you will better understand from documents in his possession, than you could from any statement I could make, for in fact I know nothing of the circumstances only as I learn them from the papers which will be presented to you

I can say this much only, and I say it with pleasure that if the facts will authorize your Excellency to interpose your prerogative in favor
of the petitioner, you could not do so for a worthier man than the person who will bear this
