VS } charge assault and Battery on J Gilliland verdict and Judgment
John Nelson. William and Dorcas Nelson

This day came the Parties and a Jury being summoned, thereupon, came a Jury viz L. D. Wright W^m D Evans, Walker Elder, James Harris, J. P. Frederick, Saml Brougman, George Hall, W^m Wood, L. Y Melone, ^James Melone Sr^ N Shouse and R. R. Clarke, who being sworn, well and truly to try the issue, and a true verdict render, and having heard the evidence returned the following verdict we the Jury find the defendent John Nelson Guilty and assess his fine at twenty dollars or ten days imprisonment and costs, we also find William and Dorcas Nelson Guilty and assess their fine at one cent each, and costs

it is therefore adjudged by the Court that the defendant John Nelson make good his fine to the Commonwealth, by the payment of twenty dollars and that he be imprisoned in the Jail of Jefferson County until the same be paid not to exceed ten days, that being one day for each two dollars of said fine, and ^that^ William Nelson and Dorcas Nelson also make good their fine of one cent each to the said Commonwealth and that they pay the costs of this prosecution
