Albany Ky May 23^d 1862.
To his Excellency B Magoffin Gov of Ky.

Your Petitioner Malinda Ferguson would represent to your honor that at the April Term 1859 -- of the Clinton Circuit Court Judgment was rendered against James Ferguson for Gaming for the Sum of $20 & further sum of $5 atto fee besides Costs and at the same Term said James Ferguson was fined the Sum of $5.00 for Gaming -- your Petitioner states that on the 11th day of June 1859, Executions issued on Said Judgments from the Clerk office of the Clinton Circuit Court and on the 3^d day of December 1860 Said James Ferguson with Champ Ferguson his Surety repleved Said Judgments then in the hands of the Sheriff -- Your Petitioner States that said sums remained unpaid, that she is the widow of said James Ferguson who died in the Service of the United States. She states that she is poor and not now able to pay off the fines aforesaid -- she States that Champ Ferguson the surety in the Replevin Bond has left Ky and left no means whereby the Sheriff can make the amounts -- and if they were she dislikes the idea of surely having debts to pay for her late husband. your petitioner States that she has Three Small children to support without aid to her -- She asks your excellency to do her the Kindness to remit Said fines, which she will hold in grateful remembrance as a gift to her & her little children
