To the Hon B Magoffin Gov^r

Your Petitioner Henry Somers would respectfully represent to your honour that he was fined at the Decr Term of the Kenton Circuit Court the sum of sixty -- dollars for selling spiritious Liquors Without Lisence where he had Lisence to sell by the quart but the person buying drank in his house Liquor that he had paid for he ~~has paid the [...] the said [...] [...] [...] the fine and~~ has replevied the fine he says that it is the first time that he was ever brought before the Court that he has resided in Covington 15 years and has had no other trouble that the man that was a witness against him was the man that drank the Liquor that he fell out with him and presented him to the Grand Jury that he is innocent as the law was not known to him he prays your Honour to Interfere and release the ~~total of~~ said fine and your petitioner will ever pray &C
