To his Excellency Beriah Magoffin,
Governor of the State of Kentucky,

We the undersigned citizens of Henderson County petition your Excellency to grant a respite to William Allison Sandefur, for the period of twelve months, upon Judgments rendered against him at the last June Term of the Henderson Circuit Court in the sum of Twenty Dollars ($20) each in the following named cases to-wit:

Your petitioners would state that the defendant plead "guilty" to the above named indictments;; that in ~~conse~~ monetary affairs, in consequence of the passage of the Stay Law, at a late session of Legislature, have become so stringent, that this Deffendant finds it impossible to meet the payment of said fines.

Your petitioners believe that Mr Sandefur
is a worth object for the exercise of your Executive clemency and, therefore, pray that the said respite may be granted.
