To His Excy B. Magoffin Gov'r of the Comth of Ky --

Your Petitioners respectfully represent that During the Oct. term of the Franklin circuit court of 1860 -- that Rich^d Hutchinson was fined by the order of the court for a contempt, the sum of thirty dollars -- and afterward reduced to twenty dollars by, the order of the court for fighting outside of the court room & imprisoned -- for twenty four hours -- now as the imprisonment was in our estimation a full punishment for a contempt commited out of the presence of the court, and as the said Hutchinson did intend no contempt of court and only struck when he was properly insulted we respectfuly pray you excy to remit said fine &c --
