To His Excellency, B. Magoffin,
Govenor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky,

Your Petitioner, W^m R. Terry, respectfully States that he was at the late December Term of the Barren Equity and Criminal Court. fined the Sum of Sixty Dollars on a charge of keeping a Tipling house, he States that the charge was Sustained upon the testimony of one witness only, he States that the witness was an habitual drunkard and that a Short time prior to the finding the Indictment the witness fell out with your humble Petitioner because he would not let him have Liquor without money and because he would not permit him to drink Spirits on his premises.

Soon after he fell out with your Petitioner, he went before the Grand Jury and presented your Petitioner.

Your petitioner further States that it is untrue that he did at any time before or Since the finding of the Indictment, sell Spirits to be drank on his premises neither did he permit or suffer it to be drunk
on his premises when bought. by the half Gallon or more.

Your petitioner States that he is now and was at the time a Farmer and had Spirits or Liquor to sell at a half Gallon or more to his nieghbours to be carried away off the premises and drunk.

Your petitioner now humbly prayeth that the executive clemency be extended to him.

We the undersigned are personally acquainted with your Petitioner W^m R. Terry and know him to be a man entitled to full credit and a Farmer and believe his case one that merits the exective clemency and therefore respectfully ask that it be extended to him.
