The Commonwealth of Kentucky

A vacancy having occured in the office of Presiding Judge of Johnson County by the Resgnation of Thomas S Brown for a less term than three years, and we the undersigned being a Majority of the Justices of the Peace in and for said County of Johnson. having met at the Court house in the town of Paintsville on Monday the 24^th day of March 1862 for the purpose of filling said vacancy after balloting as required by the statute. we hereby certify that James Remy was duly elected or chosen to fill Said vacancy of Presiding Judge of Johnson County
